After Göppingen, Wetzlar and Stuttgart, the handball foxes also get a point in Flensburg. Remain undefeated after 31:31 (16:15).

Too bad, the match winner could have been star newcomer Mathias Gidsel (23). The Olympic MVP scored eleven goals and also the 31:30 (59th), but Flensburg equalized 15 seconds before the end.

Nevertheless, Gidsel is the outstanding man on the floor in the Danes duel, the foxes with four Danish internationals and Flensburg with five in the squad.

Coach Jaron Siewert (28): “That was a special performance from him today, he carried us in many moments.”

First of all, the Berliners have the edge. Gidsel, Holm, Andersson and Lindberg put a total of 20 goals in the Flensburg net. The foxes can pull away up to four goals with their Danish power (22:18/38.) But the SG sticks to the Berliners like chewing gum to sneakers until the final whistle.

Gidsel (already in great German): “I’m still proud of our team. That was a really big fight. Of course it helps if I can speak Danish to the left and right of me.”

Unfortunately, keeper Dejan Milosavljev (26) twisted his knee in the second half and had to watch with ice bandages.
