After the embarrassment in Stuttgart (28:32) and at Bergisches HC (30:34), Füchse sports director Stefan Kretzschmar (50) said frustrated: “The Champions League place is gone.”

Before the game on Saturday (8.30 p.m. / Sky) against Minden, coach Jaron Siewert (29) contradicts his boss.

Says: “We want to win the Euro title and we’re going to the Champions League. That is no longer in our hands, but it is still mathematically possible, so I believe in it.”

Coach and team still have a lot to prove to the bosses in the last four games. The error analysis after the inexplicable bankruptcies revealed: According to Siewert, the foxes have a “mental and emotional problem with away games in English weeks”.

Siewert explains: “There was no blame assigned to the players. It was not enough from all of us, I also questioned myself.”

Siewert announces: “There will be tactical and content-related changes in our game.”
