Four out of ten cases of sexual violence from the past two years remained without a legal consequence

The Public Prosecution Service has closed four out of ten cases of sexual violence that were completed in the period 2023-2024 without criminal prosecution. This is apparent from a parliamentary answer from Minister of Justice Annelies Verlinden (CD&V). Member of Parliament Sophie de Wit (CD&V), who requested the figures, says that it should be used more strongly for better evidence collection.
