The police found 400 kilos of laughing gas in an abandoned van in Oudenbosch on Monday. The police decided to check the contents of the bus because the vehicle was neither insured nor MOT inspected.
“After a brief investigation was conducted, the vehicle was seized in consultation with an assistant public prosecutor,” police said on Instagram. The police have started an investigation into the owner.
Since 2023, laughing gas has been subject to the Opium Act and is therefore equated with drugs.
The nuisance caused by laughing gas mainly consists of waste in the form of dumped empty bottles and abandoned balloons.
