With eight entrances and six departures, Fortuna Düsseldorf was already comparatively active on the transfer market this summer, but the future of Jamil Siebert is still open. The central defender, who is the most valuable player in the squad after changing ísak Jóhannesson to 1. FC Köln, is flirting with a change to series A.

According to the matching reports by the Italian reporter Gianluca di Marzio, “Sky” and “Bild”, negotiations run with the promoted Pisa SC. These are less about persuasion for the player – the “picture” even reports an existing agreement between Siebert and Pisa – but about the transfer. Because despite an officially submitted offer, the clubs are still far apart on this question.

Siebert had an exit clause of 5.5 million euros at the Fortuna, but it has reportedly expired at the end of May. Düsseldorf can therefore determine the negotiations and set it up to the claims, but must make sure to keep the defender happy himself. In the “Bild” report, there is talk that Siebert has deposited his change of exchange with sports director Klaus Allofs and sports director Christian Weber.

Pisa attracts Siebert with a well-endowed contract until 2029 and first division football. The U21 international, who was deployed at the European Championship in three games, knows the highest division of a country, so far only from watching. After the debut for Fortuna 2021 and one and a half year old loan to FC Viktoria Cologne in the 3rd league, the 1.93 meter tall right foot has established itself as a regular in Düsseldorf in the past two years. This also called on the scene other clubs such as FC Watford, Stoke City and Queens Park Rangers from England as well as FC Bologna and FC Turin from Italy.
