“Dream come true”
Fortuna Düsseldorf has awarded midfield talent Sima Suso with a professional contract. As usual, the club did not say how long the U19 captain would be tied down. Suso made his second division debut on December 2nd in a 5-0 win at 1. FC Nürnberg at the age of 18 years, six months and four days, making him the seventh youngest novice in F95 history.
“With the contract extension of Sima Suso, we are consistently continuing on the path we have chosen with young talents from our academy. With his early commitment, Sima made a clear commitment to Fortuna and quickly acclimatized to the professional field. The licensed player contract is now the logical consequence,” explained sports director Christian Weber.
The German U19 international said: “I felt very comfortable at Fortuna from the start. I was very well received by both the youth teams and the professionals. My first professional appearances were a dream come true for me. I know that I am still at the beginning of my journey and still have a lot to learn. I’m glad that I have the chance to do that here at Fortuna.”
