Formula One Jonny Edgar is interrupting his career – he’s suffering from Crohn’s disease

Jonny Edgar now prioritizes his health over his career.

Formula driver Jonny Edgar interrupts his season in the Formula 3 series after one race weekend run.

An 18-year-old Red Bull junior academy driver says he has Crohn’s disease.

Crohn’s disease is a chronic, inflammatory bowel disease. Its symptoms include various digestive problems, abdominal pain and even severe fever.

– At the moment I am not physically fit enough to perform at the level required by the sport. When the right treatment is found, I hope to recover to full fitness. Until then, I need time to focus on my health, Edgar writes.

Edgar had time to start his second season in Formula 3 a couple of weeks ago in Bahrain. Last season, he finished 18th with 23 points. All points came from the opening half of the season.

Edgar will be replaced by the Trident stable Oliver Rasmussen.
