Following the departure of Sergio Pérez, the Formula 1 racing team Red Bull confirmed its successor on Thursday: Liam Lawson will be Max Verstappen’s teammate next year.
“Liam’s performances during his two outings with Racing Bulls have shown that he is not only capable of delivering strong results, but is also a real racer who is not afraid to compete with the best and assert himself,” said Red- Bull team boss Christian Horner.
The 51-year-old added: “There’s no question that it’s a daunting task driving alongside Max – a four-time champion and undoubtedly one of the greatest drivers Formula 1 has ever seen. But I’m sure Liam is this one “We are up to the challenge and will deliver outstanding results next year.”
Lawson himself emphasized: “Becoming a driver for Red Bull Racing is a lifelong dream for me. It’s something I’ve wanted and worked towards since I was eight years old.”
