Ralf Schumacher believes that Max Verstappen could soon end his career in Formula 1 – not only because the series world champion has become dad for the first time.
“It would of course be nicer if you are at home in such a moment. But Max is professional enough. He can fly home quickly and see his child. That won’t remember that dad wasn’t there anyway. But of course there is a difference,” said Schumacher in the “Sky” podcast “Backstage pit lane” with a view of the happening baby happiness.
The 27-year-old had made the pregnancy of partner Kelly Piquet public in December. On May 2, daughter Lily saw the light of day.
However, Schumacher believes that the development of Formula 1 is brooding overall. “You now have a few critical things from him. He is slowly losing the desire, everything is checked and it is no longer the Formula 1 that he likes. And then he recently emphasized that he wants to spend time with the family and with his father. This is a very mature, young man.”
The 49 -year -old added: “In Formula 1 everything runs in time -lapse – she quickly and ripe. So I can well imagine that he says at some point: ‘I have enough now.'”
What is Max Verstappen now disturbs on Formula 1?
Among other things, Verstappen disturbs the ever increasing show around the events on the race track and the entertainment factor in the premier class fueled by the organizers.
The hard procedure of the FIA Motorsport Association against the pronouncement of emotions and cursing drivers, which himself already met him in the form of punishments, is angry with the four-time Formula 1 champion.
According to Schumacher, there could be a solution for this, namely if a new FIA president was to be elected in December. “Perhaps something will change back to the normal. That would be quite nice,” said the ex-racing driver, who repeatedly appears as a critic of incumbent Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
