After a truly nightmare year, Ferrari is aiming for a big new beginning in the 2026 Formula 1 season. In order to make this successful, many stones were turned over in Maranello – and a new “secret weapon” was developed that should make the new car significantly faster.

As the Italian specialist portal “FunoAnalisiTecnica” reports, the engineers at Scuderia Ferrari have been working hard over the past few months to develop a new suspension for the new Formula 1 car.

The highlight behind it: Thanks to cleverly stacked carbon layers, the suspension should have a high degree of flexibility, making the car more stable, easier on tires and ultimately faster. The new suspension, the report continues, was developed in accordance with the regulations and therefore cannot be objected to by the regulators.

Ferrari is experiencing a season of chaos in Formula 1

However, what the new suspension will ultimately bring to the track remains unanswered. It will not be clear until the first test drives at the end of January at the earliest or at the latest at the first race in Melbourne in March.

What is undisputed is that next year can hardly be worse for Ferrari than last season. The Scuderia was never really competitive and only followed McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes.

In addition, there was almost traditionally a lot of unrest in the team’s environment. Fred Vasseur was reportedly on the verge of being fired, and the complicated integration of Lewis Hamilton also regularly made negative headlines.

Vasseur was primarily criticized because he is said to have stopped further development of the SF-25 early. All with the aim of getting the 26 car on the road as quickly and well as possible. However, his assessment that further development would achieve little turned out to be a fallacy, especially since Red Bull, among others, impressively demonstrated that the work on the current car was definitely worth it.
