Tire change: Verstappen picks up

But after the tire change, the mood changed: Verapens Bolide came up much better with the hard tire mixture than the leader – the gear gastics and melt. When the lead was no longer three seconds, the four -time world champion made something very rare: a mistake when braking a curve. The lead was promptly grown to five seconds.

The first half of the race at McLaren was strange. When Lando Norris was asked in the 26th round whether he would grant his teammate Oscar Piatri at the upcoming pit stops, he answered first “Yes.”. And fracture of the second later to revise his answer: “Uh, no!” His following tire change lasted 2.1 seconds – McLaren’s mechanic worked top. But when Piatri’s World Cup leaders came to the box, it was stuck. The Australian continued only after five seconds.

Humorous McLaren racing engineer

The listeners of the box radio were allowed to smile in the middle of the race: Norris Castle to Verstappen, but complained to his racing engineer William Joseph about mining tires: “I have in the ‘dirty’ air (Air flailing behind a racing car traveling in front, ed.) Problems. “ The engineer replied dryly: “Verstappen has problems in the clean air. Stay on it!”

Russell safe

Russell stored his program at the front and only swell once in round 45 for upcoming oversights: “Blue flags! They should pionize me!” Overall, however, the Germans did not cause the Englishman – his victory seemed to be only a matter of form.

George Russell balls the fist to cheer

His team-mate Kimi Antonelli completed the fastest racing round in Ferrari-Sandwich, but the young Italian fought a battle with Lewis Hamilton, which is more than twice as old as the Youngster (19). A few laps before the end of the race, Antonelli grabbed Charles Leclerc, who finished in front of Hamilton. In the end, the Briton completed the fastest racing round.

Kick clean with Shock

The team from Nico Hülkenberg provided the two biggest moments of fright in the night race. On the one hand, a dismantled tire rolled towards the fast lane at the pit stop from teammate Gabriel Bortoleto. A mechanic saw this and rushed after the bike to stop it. At that moment, Yuki Tsunoda passed the box from Sauber in the Red Bull. Fortunately, no collision occurred, but the incident should be examined.

On the other hand, the focus was on Hülkenberg himself – with a mishap: In the 45th out of 62 rounds, the veteran was irritated by the Franco Colapinto, who was driving in front of him in Williams, and blocked his back tires during the brake. As a result, the German racing car turned, but he was able to continue. But in the end there was no more than 19th for “Hülk”.
