Liam Lawson simply does not get going: After the debacle for his start to the season at Red Bull, which after only two races resulted in the degradation to the Racing Bulls, the New Zealand continues to be difficult for his new and old racing team. The result: Lawson is one of only four pilots after six starts in 2025.

The Grand Prix is also ruined on Sunday in Miami after a few meters: in curve one, a collision with one of the other accident ravens in the field, Alpines Jack Doohan. Lawson is turned over and can continue at the end of the field, but finally releases his car because of the damage drawn on the underbody during the start crash.

No wonder that the conclusion of the Racing Bulls returner is sobering: “To be honest, most races were pretty shocking. From the driving feeling in the car, I feel very comfortable in the car, the pace was also good on most routes-but unfortunately there are no results that would show that,” explains a depressed Lawson.

Formula 1: Lawson wants to “focus again”

He too is of course aware of the bad figures: “We have not yet scored points. There are many variables in Formula 1, and bringing a complete race together is not easy. The speed was usually there, but unfortunately it has simply not fit for us,” says the 23-year-old frustrated frustrated.

However, Lawson does not want to give up, explains what he thinks is now important: “Simply focus again, as always. This is how you have to be in this sport: continue to work hard, continue to work on improvements,” he says combative.

A basic problem in working with the team does not locate Lawson: “I don’t think that we have to change anything. Our approach to the weekends has been really good so far. As I said, the car was quick this weekend,” said Lawson, who is therefore certain: “At some point it will fit together.”
