Charles Leclerc is currently experiencing another unsatisfactory season at Ferrari. Are there any signs of a change at Monegasque? A Formula 1 team advisor gets into position.
The mood at Ferrari in autumn 2025 is poor. Charles Leclerc has also recently expressed his dissatisfaction.
Mario Andretti, advisor and board member of F1 newcomer Cadillac, offers the Scuderia driver a cockpit if he wants to change teams in the future.
“Verstappen is very strong,” he said. “I like Piastri because of his determination, but it seems to me that for some reason – I don’t know why – they prefer Lando Norris at McLaren,” said the former F1 driver at the Gazzetta dello Sport sports festival.
“I’m a big fan of Leclerc. If he really wanted to change teams one day, I would immediately bring him to Cadillac,” he praised. At the same time he qualified: “Ferrari is Ferrari, and sooner or later they will come back. Always.” Cadillac also has to spend a few years earning the right to acquire such talent.
Cadillac will be launching in 2026 with the experienced duo Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez. Mick Schumacher came away empty-handed in the race for a cockpit at Cadillac.
Ferrari: Rumors about Leclerc’s move
Leclerc’s advisor recently made people sit up and take notice with statements.
Leclerc is looked after by Nicolas Todt, son of ex-Ferrari team boss Jean Todt. In an interview with “straitstimes.com”, he said that he expected a “very hot” driver market for 2027 – a year after the introduction of the new rules and exactly at the time when Leclerc’s contract expires.
“Many drivers wait to see how well each team has worked and how good their car will be to say: ‘I want to stay with my team’ or ‘I want to move to another team because they are doing a better job,'” Todt said ambiguously.
In 2025, Todt Ferrari is likely to be one of the teams that do not do enough to meet Leclerc’s world championship aspirations, even if he stated that the Scuderia has “a good car”.
There was also further speculation that Todt had been in contact with several teams about Leclerc’s future.
