Does Yuki Tsunoda already replace the upcoming Japan Grand Prix Liam Lawson in the Red Bull? The Formula 1 driver’s exchange after two seasonal races seems to be a decided thing, but Lawson does not give up. He believes that he is the better Verstappen teammate, after all, the New Zealander Tsunoda has always defeated.
Liam Lawson is based on information from RTL/NTV and sport.de As well as lose his cockpit before the next race in Suzuka. That is yet an end and the follow-up regulation, but it is expected that Yuki Tsunoda will take a seat in his home race alongside Max Verstappen.
Lawson’s achievements in Melbourne and Shanghai were too bad for those responsible for Red Bull. The New Zealand could not enter a single point in two races and a sprint. The only question is whether Yuki Tsunoda would do better.
The Japanese already said he was ready for the Japan GP-after all, the Red Bull was the “100 percent better car” than the Racing Bull. Lawson countered the tsunoda statements after the race in China: “He can say what he wants.”
Lawson refers to past services: “I dueled with him for years in the young series and I always beat him. I drove against him in Formula 1 and beat him there too.”
Formula 1: Lawson’s statements can hardly stand up to reality
A daring statement by the New Zealand – after all, she can be easily checked. For example, if you look at the six Grand Prix, which Lawson and Tsunoda contested together in the Racing Bull last year, there is a fairly clear picture.
Tsunoda defeated Lawson in the qualifying duel six times and finished four times ahead of Lawson in the races. The 23-year-old only has his nose 2-1 in front in the sprint qualis and races.
In 2019 both drove together in Formula 3. At the end of the season, Liam Lawson landed in eleventh place in the overall ranking – Yuki Tsunoda became ninth and, unlike the New Zealand, was able to win a race.
Lawson’s counterattack against Tsunoda is therefore not to be kept. He will have harmed his chances of remaining a red bull remaining.
