Formula 1 in Australia | Rise early to see Max Verstappen and Nyck de Vries in action in Melbourne | formula 1

After the handsome comeback at the Jeddah circuit does Max Verstappen want to win the race on Sunday 2 April at the Australian Grand Prix. Also because he did not finish last year in Australia due to a leak in the fuel tank. It is the third grand prix of this year in Melbourne. At these times he and Nyck de Vries come into action.

Last year, the circuit was reopened for Formula 1 after being closed for two years due to corona. At the time, the race was still the opening weekend of the new season. Melbourne has now lost that honor, but the Australian Grand Prix still attracts around 400,000 visitors every year.

The race is somewhat like a semi-street circuit, which makes overtaking difficult. This can also lead to crashes. In 2001, a Jacques Villeneuve crash resulted in the death of a Marshall. Villeneuve rode behind Ralf Schumacher at high speed. A flying wheel then hit the marshal’s chest.

It is hoped that no accidents will occur during the weekend of March 31 to April 2. Due to the considerable time difference with the Netherlands, it is 8 hours later in Melbourne. The alarm clock will therefore come in handy so that you don’t miss anything. View all start times below.
