Mick Schumacher can also play football: the Formula 1 driver scored three goals in the “Champions for Charity” benefit game.

The Schumacher and Friends team beat the Nowitzki All Stars with coach and goalkeeper Dirk Nowitzki 11:10 (4:4) in Frankfurt on Wednesday evening.

The game, in which numerous prominent athletes took part, was attended by 15,120 spectators. The benefit game is for a good cause and in honor of Michael Schumacher.

Nowitzki, however, was not granted a goal. The basketball legend got the opportunity early on, but failed with a penalty kick by former international goalkeeper René Adler.

The event took place in Mainz in 2016 and 2017, and in Leverkusen in 2019. A game planned for 2020 had been canceled due to Corona.

Numerous active and former sports greats took part in the benefit game, and some top stars of the Bundesliga were also represented. For example, Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp or BVB defender Mats Hummels played along.
