The former nurse of the Wilhelmina Hospital in Assen who was suspected of involvement in around twenty deaths, has submitted a disciplinary complaint against employees of GGZ Drenthe and against a psychologist from the Ambulatory Forensic Psychiatry Noord.

The complaint is directed against the violation of professional secrecy and “not complying with the required care in file formation,” the man’s lawyers report on Monday. According to the lawyer Ronald Knegt, the disciplinary case has been in the air for some time, but they have since been provided with all the necessary documents and the complaint is officially submitted.

According to the lawyers, the suspicion was purely based on information that came from the care providers involved. The (former) nurse would have made incriminating statements against them, which he denies. After his arrest in April 2023, the man was stuck for six weeks. A year later, the Public Prosecution Service dismissed the case for lack of evidence.

The disciplinary complaint is dealt with by the Regional Disciplinary Court for the Healthcare Region Zwolle.
