As a biathlete, Franziska Hildebrand was able to celebrate some successes. Now she has added the next beautiful moment to her private life: the birth of her son.
Great news to start the new year: Former German biathlete Franziska Hildebrand has become a mother again. The 37-year-old relay world champion from 2015 and 2017 announced this on Instagram and shared an emotional message with her followers.
The former athlete wrote on a photo showing three different hands: “When life is enriched by another miracle! Welcome little man. Happy News Year.” The snapshot shows one of Hildebrand’s hands, one of her first child and one of her newborn son. This lies under a linen cloth.
Biathlonworld responded to the post with: “Welcome and congratulations.” The currently best German biathlete, Franziska Preuß, who leads the overall World Cup rankings, also commented on the post with a heart formed from two hands. Former long-distance runner Sabrina Mockenhaupt wrote: “Soooo beautiful.”
Hildebrand became a mother of a daughter for the first time in January 2023. During her active sporting time, in addition to her World Championship titles, she also became European relay champion and five-time German champion. She retired from biathlon in 2022.
