Former participants lyrical about ‘sad’ song S10 for the Eurovision song contest: ‘Die voice!’ † show

Singer S10 is going to the Eurovision Song Contest for the Netherlands with a ‘sad’ song. Some well-known former participants were allowed to listen to the song and are deeply impressed, according to a reaction video published today. “I love sad songs and this is definitely a good sad song,” said Jeangu Macrooy.

César Sampson, who finished third on behalf of Austria in 2018, is also enthusiastic. This might be my favorite song [van dit jaar] until now,” he says.

The artists think S10’s voice is beautiful, with which she makes a kind of long humming sound in the chorus. The Dutch text is also beautiful, says 2019 winner Duncan Laurence. “I hope people start googling the lyrics like crazy,” he says. “Because it’s very beautiful.”

But according to Gjon’s Tears, who finished third last year on behalf of Switzerland, that googling is not even necessary. “If you and your voice are the message, people will understand, whatever the language is. (…) I love the song and I’m sure you will love it too”, he turns to the viewers.

The chorus is ‘catchy’, Sampson notes. “You know what I really like about it?” Duncan says. “She specifically used words that you can also use in English.

The Greek-Utrecht Stefania Liberakakis uses the fewest words of all listeners, but says the most. Already at the beginning of the song she makes the ‘perfect’ symbol with both hands, a moment later she seems dumbfounded about the quality. “Wow,” she just says. And moments later she swoons: “Ooh, her voice! (…) It is a very good song for the Eurovision Song Contest.”
