Former basketball professional and captain of the German national team Ademola Okulaja died on Monday at the age of 46. This is reported by the magazine “BIG”. The cause of death is so far unknown.
Okulaja previously fought cancer
Between 1995 and 2007, the 2.06 meter man played a total of 172 international matches for Germany. In 2002 he won the bronze medal at the World Championships together with Dirk Nowitzki. But years later, Okulaja suffered several blows of fate.
In 2008 he was diagnosed with a tumor after a vertebral fracture – which he successfully fought a year later. In the same year, however, he ended his career and has been active for the “Sport1” channel since 2010 as an expert and co-commentator on live broadcasts.
