The American fashion and media group Authentic Brands Group LLC (ABG) has appointed Sanjeet Mehta as Executive Vice President, Head of India. Mehta started its new post on March 10 and was now responsible for the group strategy in India, the company said on Thursday. His tasks include strengthening the brand presence, the establishment of strategic partnerships and increasing sales.

According to its new employer, Mehta has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of retail, sales, business development and marketing. Among other things, he already worked for brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Villeroy & Boch. Most recently, he headed the consumer goods and retail business in India, the Middle East and North Africa, Indonesia and the emerging markets in South Asia at the entertainment group The Walt Disney Company.

In his role at Authentic Brands Group, Mehta will work closely with Henry Stupp, the regional President, EMEIA. He recognized the newcomer: “Sanjeets in-depth expertise in the areas of licensing, retail and brand management as well as its ability to scale companies and develop effective partnerships make it an ideal manager to drive our India strategy forward,” Stupp explained in a statement.
