Former director Kanjer Wens denies abuse of minors and will appeal

Peter V., the former director of the Kanjer Wens Foundation, is appealing. His lawyer informed Omroep Flevoland. The 55-year-old Almeerder was sentenced by the court in December to 9 years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment for sexually abusing at least thirteen underage boys and producing child pornography.

As director of the Kanjer Wens foundation, V. organized outings and gave gifts to chronically and seriously ill children. This is how he met a large number of his victims. Most of his victims come from Almere.

One of the abuse cases took place in Hilversum. He also met his victims when he was a trainer for a football club in Weesp. The abuse took place between 2006 and 2021. The victims were between 8 and 15 years old at the time. Two weeks ago, V. was convicted in the Lelystad court. This led to a lot of emotion in the court.

Emotional treatment

No fewer than two days were set aside in November to deal with the substance of this case. During these days, the sexually explicit details of the intense sexual offense case were discussed in detail. Ultimately, the Public Prosecution Service announced that they demanded twelve years in prison and TBS with compulsory treatment against V.

The victims and the victims’ parents were also allowed to exercise their right to speak in November. This led to an emotional day in court. “The number of people in the court here today shows how great your dirty plunder was. What was it worth?” he said. V. himself denied everything.
