The incident occurred in the south of the island, in Puigderros. According to initial information, there was a collision with a driver. The 58-year-old suffered a double shin broken and a shoulder injury.
The unbeaten double world champion (IBF and WBA) was brought to a clinic and had to undergo an surgical intervention on the shin on Tuesday. According to the image, screws were used. The shoulder can be treated conservatively.
Ottke has an apartment in Palma. He regularly keeps fit on the island, plays golf or takes bike tours. Only last week he was active together with his former coach Ulli Wegner in a holiday club in Mallorca. There the duo led training sessions for vacationers – a project that the two have been running together for many years in the summer months.
Wegner, who is currently on vacation with his wife on the island, said the “picture”: “Sven Ottke is doing well in accordance with the circumstances. I will visit him in the clinic on Wednesday. He was simply driven around.”
