Former Ajax player Sébastien Haller temporarily back at De Toekomst sports park

Sébastien Haller was a striking face on Ajax’s training field this morning. The 28-year-old striker is recovering from testicular cancer and is working on his recovery in the Netherlands. “It is of course wonderful that he can be there for a while,” said trainer Alfred Schreuder.

Tumor

The 28-year-old Haller made the switch from Ajax to Borussia Dortmund last summer. In Germany, a tumor was detected in the Ivorian at the beginning of the season. As a result, he has not yet been able to show himself in Germany.

“He asked us if he could train at Ajax, because he was convalescing here for a few days. Then it is of course wonderful that he can be there for a while. He has been able to train on his recovery on a different field.” said Schreuder.

The team from Amsterdam will play the important Champions League match against Liverpool tomorrow evening. Ajax needs a big win to have a chance of wintering in the million-dollar ball.
