Nicolaasplein is fenced with fences and turned into a large sandbox. The roof and parking spaces have disappeared and walkers are not welcome. The square gets a large metamorphosis. What happens there and when are the work ready?

Nicolaasplein is closed to all traffic from Friday 7 March to Friday 25 April. Parking on the square is therefore not possible either. The work is covered by the Central Park project where the municipality gives the area around the Grote Dobbe a new look.
A real forest
Nicolaasplein gets new paving stones and the parking spaces are coming back. The square remains a place for small -scale events. On the lawn of Nicolaasplein there will be a jeu de boulesbaan with a bench. The green strip, the so -called Nicolaasbos, will also have a new design. There will be a hiking trail and a connection with the platform that comes around the lake. Soon we can take a walk around the lake.
Is that on time?
The plan is therefore that the work on Nicolaasplein will be ready on Friday 25 April at 4 p.m. According to the municipality, part of the square is then accessible to the public. The next day (April 26) is the King’s Day so we hope that the square is really ready for the hordes of Zoetermeerders who move into the city. Indebuurt keeps an eye on it!
