Valtteri Bottas got the worst possible start to their GP weekend.

The Nastolan drove his Alfa Romeo against the wall already in the first practice and broke it down so completely that he could not get on the track at all in the second training that started a couple of hours later.

The Ferrari driver did not do much better Carlos Sainzin Friday. The Spaniard still got an intact first training session, but he only rode his car to the safety fence a quarter of the start of the second training session.

– I’m sorry, guys. I don’t know what happened, Sainz slammed into the team radio.

Ferrari’s patience is certainly already being tested, as Miami became the third consecutive race weekend Sainz is driving out. Just before his spinning, he had had the best lap time to date.

Big clouds of trouble also overshadowed it Max Verstappen second training. As a precaution, the gearbox was replaced in the Dutch car. As soon as he got on the track, Red Bull suffered a hydraulic leak that made it virtually impossible to steer the car.

Verstappen moved on the track dangerously slowly as he limped back to the depot.

In the end, it was number one on the results list George Russellwho left Charles Leclerin 0.1 second away. Friday gave clear signs of Mersu stable returning to the top.

On Saturday, there will be a third practice hour (8 pm) before the start of the time trial (11 pm).
