For the first time in fifteen years there were fewer beer breweries in the Netherlands last year than the year before. Our country now has 740 breweries, 40 less than early 2024. This is reported by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Many smaller breweries have stopped due to rising costs, which means that beer production is no longer profitable.
