The neck protection worn by the Young Lions will impress the under-20 hockey team at the World Cup.

The popular Canadian hockey media Bardown took a closer look at the neck protection used by Finnish players. In the social media publication, the equipment is painted as very epic, although at first glance it is even more mundane than everyday.

– Finland’s white neck guard might be the most iconic piece of equipment at the IIHF games.

In the video of the IG publication, we marvel at its difference compared to the “usual”, i.e. in this case, the Canadian model.

– It is longer than the normal model and it comes all the way down, the video shows.

In the video, the guardian of the Finnish team Matti Väyrynen presents the neck protector, explaining its features in more detail.

– This also protects the upper part of the chest, Väyrynen explains the reason for the long model.

The color of the neck guard caught the attention of the Canadian media. Väyryse is asked why it is always white, regardless of Finland’s uniform.

– Logo. It can always be seen in white, says Väyrynen.

The white neck guard has the lion emblem of the Finnish ice hockey team.

Bardown is a subpage of the Canadian sports media giant TSN about hockey social phenomena. It has more than 800,000 followers on Instagram alone.

Earlier in these games, the same hockey media admired the mattresses of the Finnish players.
