These are the images of the thief who made off on Saturday with the car of folk singer Sander Kwarten from Breda, while his three young children were still in the back seat. What should have been the start of a well-deserved holiday ends in a true nightmare.
The images show how the thief, a 36-year-old man of no fixed abode, calmly walks to the car and gets in. The car was ready with the engine running to go on holiday. It is not clear whether the thief sees the children at that moment. As he gets in, he takes off his backpack and throws it on the passenger seat.
Then you see him drive away quickly. Sander follows him in another car. He sees how the perpetrator gets out 700 meters away and throws his children out. They escape unscathed, but they are completely upset by what happened.
