Footballer Mitch Apau in De Kick-off about racism in Slovakia: “Even with his own supporters”

Mitch Apau is one of the mainstays of first divisionist Telstar this season. As a guest in football talk show De Aftrap, he also talks about his wanderings abroad, where he won a total of five national titles. There was also a dark side. At his club Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia, his own fans deliberately skipped him and some dark fellow players in the guard of honor. “A hand was pulled away a few times in a row.”

Apau is a guest with Mark Admiraal, who has been AZ’s regular speaker for about ten years. Admiraal started broadcasting at his own village club in Limmen where his predecessor, the late Ben Lieferink, was also a speaker.

Despite the recent defeat of the Alkmaarders at Feyenoord, Admiral hopes that AZ can continue to participate in the title fight. “The difference has increased, but that does not mean that you are finished.”

Touch the Flag

Former AZ player Des Kunst competes against Erik-Jan Brinkman in our weekly section Touch the Flag in IJmuiden. After a foreign adventure at the Swedish Varbergs, art has settled with second divisionist Katwijk.
