Suddenly there was the message from Eindhoven: Ruud van Nistelrooij is leaving PSV with immediate effect. The management of the club had not seen that coming. At Feyenoord they know that Arne Slot would like to go to Spurs, but an initial consultation with the agent of the trainer and the club did not provide any clarity. ,,I have known Van Nistelrooij for some time, also as a player. He can make a choice very independently that goes very rigorously in the other direction,” says Maarten Wijffels after the press conference in Eindhoven. “After the grievances of players that he heard on Tuesday evening in a conversation with the management, he no longer wanted to put on a play.”
And so he got up. Just before the important duel with AZ next weekend. PSV says goodbye to a former player with a considerable track record. “Another club icon leaves PSV damaged. Many Feyenoord supporters hoped to get clarity about the future of trainer Arne Slot on Wednesday. “It has been a frustrating day in Rotterdam,” says Mikos Gouka. “The conclusion is that they continue to talk. That means the door is not closed for Spurs yet. It’s a bit strange that Slot’s agent comes to talk about Spurs, but she’s not from Spurs. It needs more time and that seems a bit unprofessional to me. This process is taking too long.”
