Captain Atakan Karazor from Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart has warned his teammates about the heated atmosphere at the away game at Fenerbahce Istanbul.
“I also asked a few players in the national team what it would be like here. They said that all hell was breaking loose here. And I passed that on to my team,” said the midfielder before the duel in the Europa League on Thursday (6:45 p.m.).
VfB Stuttgart doesn’t want to change its style
The cup winners still have to “above all enjoy the atmosphere,” said Karazor, who was recently called up to the Turkish national team squad for the third time but is still waiting for his debut.
“That’s why we won the cup, that we can experience games like this.” VfB will not change its style of play “in any stadium in the world. We remain true to ourselves and play to our strengths.”

For the 29-year-old, the encounter in Istanbul will be “a special game” because of his origins – but “not a home game, even though my family is of course there,” said Karazor: “I’m looking forward to the atmosphere. That will remain in my memory.”
