In the second smallest stadium of this year’s European Championships in Group A, Iceland and Finland play against each other and at 9 p.m. the Swiss officially open the tournament against Norway in Basel. For the first time, both teams meet in a tournament. The last two competitive games between Iceland and Finland were given in the European Championship qualification in August 1983.
