FC fans eat and drink here very close to the club

The fans of 1. FC Köln can now stop again in the newly opened clubhouse restaurant. The Bundesliga club now operates the restaurant on its own.
Not only the name is new: the former Geißbockheim-Restaurant has been called clubhouse since Wednesday and shines in a completely new shine. After months of renovation, the 1. FC Köln has now opened the gates of its restaurant again and catered for the first guests.
The Bundesliga club now operates the restaurant on the training site and the office on its own. The restaurant was originally leased to the Bechthold family since 2014 and up to and including 2029. In the fall of last year, however, the association and the Bechtholds agreed to end the lease early on December 31, 2024. The employees were all taken over by FC.
Large optical changes also went hand in hand with the takeover. The clubhouse had therefore been closed for the conversion measures since February. Numerous guests and visitors came to reopen on Wednesday to look at the redesigned restaurant and take a first look at the menu.
FC employees also moved into their new work area, the so -called “south curve”, which is spatially delimited from the restaurant. As a result, the premises with 85 seats will now also be a functional meeting point for everyday work at the Geißbockheim.
The actual restaurant meanwhile offers space for 75 guests and is modern. In the entrance area, replicas of the DFB Cup and the championship shell are reminiscent of past decades. The spacious terrace bears the name “Spielwiese” and offers a further 100 guests outdoor space. The sanitary facilities were also completely redesigned.
Now that the restaurant has been put back into operation, some other work in the building has not yet been completed. The “Mixed Zone”, in which press conferences and other media appointments can take place in the future, has not yet been completed. The staircase also gets a final touch. However, the restaurant is already accessible to every FC fan and interested guest via the elevator or the terrace.
