After three unbeaten games against Hannover 96 (1:0), Karlsruher SC (1:1) and against 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1:0), there was no real consistency at Eintracht. After a narrow 2:3 defeat against HSV, head coach Michael Schiele’s team then narrowly won 2:1 against FC St. Pauli. Most recently, however, there was a 2-1 defeat against a direct relegation candidate, 1. FC Magdeburg. With 32 points, the Lower Saxony are in 14th place in the second division and only four points ahead of a direct relegation zone, where Hansa Rostock is currently placed.

Paderborn has been unbeaten in two games in the 2nd Bundesliga. After a clear 3-0 win against Hansa Rostock, there was a small setback against the bottom of the table last matchday. Only a 2.2 draw was recorded in the end. As a result, the team of head coach Lukas Kwasniok missed the connection to the top three places and is now nine points behind the relegation place, which Hamburger SV currently occupies with 56 points. Five games before the end, the East Westphalians have little chance of promotion and are fourth with 47 points.
