  • 58.

    9:46 p.m

    1. FC Kaiserslautern made too many mistakes in the build-up to the game. The ball goes back to Hertha BSC behind the halfway line too quickly and too easily.

  • 55.

    9:46 p.m

That has to be 2-0! Marten Winkler brings the ball flat, hard and sharp from the left side in front of the box. The cross reaches Fabian Reese at the right corner of the six-yard box, but Julian Krahl misses it from close range.

  • 52.

    9:44 p.m

There was definitely more to it. A cross flies into the FCK penalty area from the right side. Mickaël Cuisance comes from a central position to head the ball, but the finish is too safe despite the touchdown. Julian Krahl picks up the play equipment.

  • 48.

    9:40 p.m

Fabian Reese finds Luca Schuler with a pass to the front. From the right half of the penalty area he lays the ball up for Kennet Eichhorn. The ball slips from him, so the shot misses the goal a few meters to the left.

  • 47.

    9:37 p.m

The hosts get off to a lively start. Mika Haas crosses into the box from the left side. In order to prevent a chance, Toni Leistner has to clear the ball with his head into the goal.

    Kick-off of the 2nd half

  • 45.

    9:24 p.m

    Half-time conclusion:
After the first 45 minutes, Hertha BSC leads 1-0 at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. It quickly developed into an entertaining football game. However, there were few clear chances to score in the opening quarter of an hour. The visitors’ attacks then became more targeted. After a cross from Marten Winkler, Luca Schuler (20th) took the lead. Just two minutes later, Hertha keeper Tjark Ernst prevented Mika Haas from equalizing. As the playing time increased, Stefan Leitl’s team was the better team. While FCK’s advances became fewer, the visitors’ goal area scenes increased. In the 45th minute, Kennet Eichhorn hit the post. So the lead is well deserved, but the home side will definitely still have everything they can in the second half.

    9:14 p.m

Post! After a thwarted Berlin goal opportunity, the ball ends up at Kennet Eichhorn. He fires a tough, low shot from 18 meters centrally. Julian Krahl can only look behind him, but the ball hits the left post.

  • 43.

    9:12 p.m

    Luca Schuler

Yellow card for Luca Schuler (Hertha BSC)
Because the Berliner complained about a whistle from Tobias Welz, he showed him a yellow card.

  • 42.

    9:11 p.m

Nice ending! Semih Şahin fuels his way through the Berlin midfield. He leaves two opponents behind him. He finishes from the edge of the penalty area. Tjark Ernst safely holds on to the tight low shot.

  • 41.

    9:10 p.m

With a steep pass, Fabian Reese is sent on his way on the right side. Finally, Leon Robinson gets to the ball a moment earlier and clears the ball into the goal. However, the decision was incorrectly made for a goal kick.

  • 38.

    9:07 p.m

    Knows Eichhorn

Yellow card for Kennet Eichhorn (Hertha BSC)
Kennet Eichhorn is shown a yellow card for a foul on Fabian Kunze in the center circle.

  • 35.

    9:05 p.m

The guests are now the team that dominates the game. Defensively, Hertha is very compact and FCK rarely gets through to the penalty area. Offensively, the ball is repeatedly brought dangerously in front of the goal. Can Stefan Leitl’s team add more before the break?

  • 31.

    9:04 p.m

What’s going on on the right FCK side? Hertha BSC keeps crossing there. Once again Marten Winkler brings the ball into the box as smoothly as butter. However, Luca Schuler’s header is too misplaced. Julian Krahl grips securely with both hands.

  • 30.

    9:02 p.m

Strong header! A cross from the left finds Fabian Reese in the center of the penalty area. He heads specifically towards the left corner of the goal, but with an excellent reflex Julian Krahl deflects the ball to the side.

  • 27.

    9:00 p.m

There is the first corner for the capital club. The cross flies into the box from the left side. But Julian Krahl surely plucks the leather out of the air.

  • 25.

    8:59 p.m

    1. FC Kaiserslautern keeps playing its way into the away half. However, Hertha BSC is very compact. Torsten Lieberknecht’s team only rarely manages to completely outplay the midfield.

  • 22.

    20:56

Good chance to equalize! The FCK is not unsettled by the deficit. Mika Haas is put in the spotlight in the left half of the penalty area. Tjark Ernst parried his hard shot on goal well.

  • 20.

    8:49 p.m

    Luca Schuler

Tooor for Hertha BSC, 0:1 by Luca Schuler
The ball fidgets in the net! Marten Winkler crosses perfectly from the left corner of the penalty area to the edge of the six-meter area. In a half-right position, Luca Schuler quickly transfers the ball from his right to his left foot and nets it into the far corner.

  • 18.

    8:48 p.m

It’s a really entertaining football game. Both teams are committed to finding the way forward. The only thing that is still in short supply are clear chances to score.

  • 15.

    8:48 p.m

A defensive action on the other side also goes wrong. With a Hertha tackle, Ivan Prtajin is placed in the half-right corner of the box. In the end, Márton Dárdai ironed out his teammate’s mistake with strong positional play.

  • 14.

    8:46 p.m

There wasn’t much missing! A long ball is uncleanly cleared into the backcourt by the FCK defense. Fabian Reese grabs the ball there. The 20 meter finish flies over the crossbar at the top right.

  • 12.

    8:44 p.m

Hertha BSC increases the pressure. The ball stays in your own ranks longer and you keep moving forward into the opponent’s half. However, the Berliners usually have to turn away again at the edge of the penalty area. In the last third of the game there are no passing stations.

  • 9.

    20:41

What’s going on here? Referee Tobias Welz interrupted the game twice, even though the free kick was already in the air. Mickaël Cuisance’s 3rd attempt ends up in the arms of Julian Krahl.

  • 7.

    8:36 p.m

    Leon Robinson

Yellow card for Leon Robinson (1. FC Kaiserslautern)
That happened quickly: Leon Robinson received the first yellow card of the game for a foul on the right wing.

  • 5.

    8:35 p.m

In the initial phase, the teams first feel things out. The encounter takes place primarily between the two penalty areas. The hosts have a little more possession of the ball.

  • 2.

    8:33 p.m

Everything is set up for a wonderful football evening under floodlights. The FCK fans put on a great choreo for the club’s 125th anniversary with lots of flags over all the stands. The guest block is also well filled and loud. Let’s get started!

The league game is also a dress rehearsal for the DFB Cup. The two teams will meet in the round of 16 on December 2nd. The venue will be the Berlin Olympic Stadium in around four weeks.

  • 7:55 p.m

Hertha BSC, on the other hand, is looking at three wins in a row across all competitions. Stefan Leitl’s team defeated Fortuna Düsseldorf (1-0) in their own stadium, SV 07 Elversberg (3-0) and most recently Dynamo Dresden (2-0) in the cup. There are still three changes to the starting lineup. Maurice Krattenmacher, Diego Demme (both bench) and Linus Gechter (thigh injury) make way for Marten Winkler, Kennet Eichhorn and Niklas Kolbe.

  • 19:41

After the international break, things were mixed at FCK. A 3-2 win at Karlsruher SC was followed by a 1-1 draw at home against 1. FC Nürnberg. The 1-0 cup win at SpVgg Greuther Fürth was followed by another 1-1 draw in Düsseldorf last weekend. Coach Torsten Lieberknecht only makes one change. No. 1 Julian Krahl returns between the posts. Substitute goalkeeper Simon Simoni takes a seat on the bench again.

  • 7:36 p.m

According to the results so far, the home team has slipped from 6th to 7th place. With a win, however, it is possible to draw level with SV 07 Elversberg in the relegation place. Hertha BSC is breathing down the neck of 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Only three points separate the two clubs. This offers the guests a very good opportunity to catch up with the top group.
