Foo Fighters cancels all their upcoming gigs

The band’s gig calendar was full until December, but with the departure of drummer Taylor Hawkins, performances are allowed to stay.

American rock band Foo Fighters has canceled all their upcoming gigs after the band’s drummer Taylor Hawkins50, died suddenly last Friday, March 25th.

– With great sadness, Foo Fighters confirms that all future gigs have been canceled by our brother Taylor Hawkinsin due to a shocking loss. We are sorry and share the disappointment that we will not be able to see each other as planned, Foo Fighters says in a statement.

– Instead, let us spend this time mourning, healing, being with our loved ones, and appreciating all the music and shared memories we make.

The Foo Fighters were on tour in South America when Hawkins died. His last performance with the band was at the Lollapalooza gig in Argentina on March 20th. The band was scheduled to spend almost the entire year on a world tour and had upcoming events around the world until December.

Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, as the band prepares for a performance at the Estéro Picnic Festival. He had been playing in the Foo Fighters since 1997.

The cause of Hawkins’ death is unknown, but he is said to have suffered from chest pains just before his death.

– The healthcare professional involved in the emergency response stated that he had taken the necessary resuscitation measures. However, the patient did not respond and was declared dead, the local authorities said in a statement.

A press release issued by the Colombian authorities also states that residues of ten different substances have been found in Hawkins’ urine. According to the authorities, Hawkins’ samples were positive for benzodiazepines, opioids, and marijuana, among others.

World stars have mourned Hawkins ’death and have shown their condolences on social media. Among other things Elton John called Hawkins one of the drummers of all time.
