Before Florian Wirtz can switch to FC Liverpool this summer, the Reds and Bayer Leverkusen still have to agree on the transfer, because the desired amount of the Worseself bosses is great. The fact that Wirtz has already expressed a jersey request to those responsible for the LFC denied the still Leverkusener on Tuesday.
The TV broadcaster “Sky” once again provided Wirtz headlines on Tuesday when he reported that Florian Wirtz would be happy to be able to wear the number 10 with his future employer. Wirtz himself explained in an Instagram story in the evening: everything nonsense.
“Whoever says I want the 10,” wrote the still Leverkusener. “I respect players. Don’t believe everything that is written,” the German international defended himself against the presentation. Wirtz ended his post with a clown emoji.
What Wirtz should have annoyed: number 10 is not free at the Reds. This is currently awarded to Alexis Mac Allister, at least in office world champion. It is obvious that Wirtz probably does not want to step on his feet to his future teammates.
FC Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen negotiate about Wirtz
Meanwhile, the 27, the 27, which Wirtz held in Leverkusen during the first few years, would be 10, until he finally switched to 10 in 2023 and promptly became champion and DFB Cup winner after the season.
Wirtz would like to be similarly successful in Liverpool – whether with or without 10. Until it comes, there are probably several rounds of negotiations. Bayer is said to demand 150 million euros, and the English champion last offered around 130 million euros in the second attempt.
Rumors, according to which FC Liverpool could integrate other players into the deal, were denied by the “Liverpool Echo” newspaper on Tuesday.
