Flemish victims of terror trial must translate documents themselves to prove their damage | Process attacks Brussels

To prove their psychological and/or material damage, victims of the attacks in Brussels have added documents to their civil party claim. Think of reports from doctors or psychologists.
Now it appears from a letter from the registry that they cannot be accepted because they are in Dutch. “Because the procedure is in French, those documents must be translated,” the letter said.

It sows unrest among the victims. They also wonder whether that translation should be done by a sworn translator.

Assize experts say there won’t be much to do about it. After all, it is regulated by law that official documents must be in the language of the proceedings.
