Flemish Minister Hilde Crevits (CD&V) wants nursing home prices to rise more slowly, Groen calls for a ceiling on costs: “This cannot continue like this”

Flemish Minister of Welfare Hilde Crevits (CD&V) wants the prices of nursing homes to follow the health index instead of the consumer price index. She said this on Radio 1 on Monday. “Negotiations about this are ongoing with the umbrella organizations and the elderly associations. I hope to make a principled decision about this in the government within a few weeks,” said the minister. Opposition party Groen also wants to do something about rising prices and is calling for a ceiling on costs. “The government’s job is to take care of people, not profits.”
