The roads around the ports have to deal with a lot of heavy freight traffic every day, resulting in extra wear. The Flemish Minister for Mobility and Public Works Annick De Ridder therefore wants to invest heavily in structural maintenance.
“Keeping our ports easily accessible, ensures prosperity throughout Flanders. However, many of our port roads are in poor condition today. By investing, we not only improve road safety and mobility, but we also strengthen the competitiveness of our ports,” says the minister.
