Flamengo, one of the two Brazilian representatives, hosted Corinthians at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro in the quarter-final rematch of the tournament, which was organized for the 63rd time this year by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and featured the continent’s “Champions League”.

Flamengo defeated their opponent 1-0 with Pedro’s goal in the 52nd minute in the first half of the match, which was goalless. In Corinthians, Uruguayan player Bruno Mendez saw a direct red card in the 68th minute and left his team with 10 players.

Flamengo won the first match 2-0 and became the first team to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

The tournament will continue with the quarter-finals of Talleres-Velez Sarsfield and Palmeiras-Atletico Mineiro.
