Five defendants now have to appear before the criminal court in Bruges. According to the public prosecutor’s office, they took too few precautions when carrying out the works in Christinastraat.
One of those defendants is a crane operator who worked for a company from Roeselare. He always claimed that he had been careful and did not understand what had gone wrong. But according to the investigation, the public prosecutor’s office has nevertheless collected incriminating elements. “They are being prosecuted for unintentional assault and battery due to a lack of caution or precaution,” spokeswoman Griet De Perst said.
Today is the introductory hearing, only later will there be arguments.
