Tim and Kelly met in a shoe store where they both worked. De Vonk skipped and what started when a collegial collaboration led to a relationship and Tim who left Brabant behind to live with Kelly in Rotterdam. The couple now have a daughter and run their own shoe store: Shoe by Lou!

A real family business
The shoe compartment has already been brought up at Tim and Kelly. “Our parents had shoe stores and my grandparents on my father’s side had a shoe factory,” says Tim. “My mother’s father was shoe designer again.” It is therefore not surprising that the two got to know each other in a shoe store.
That their shoe store in Stadshart Zoetermeer is a real family business is also evident from the name that Tim and Kelly have chosen for their business. Tim says: “Our daughter’s name is Louèn. Shoe by Lou is named after her.”

Top shoes for a low price
Because of their background, Tim and Kelly know many people in the shoe world. They therefore know exactly where to be to purchase the most beautiful models as affordably as possible for their store. “Our shoes are more modern than many other models in the same low price category,” says Tim. “We buy them in Germany and fashion city of Paris. We go out a few times every month to score new models.”
The result may be: “Our customers are very enthusiastic about our offer and come back to us every time they need new shoes. We are a bit in a hidden spot in the city center, in the passage. People are always pleasantly surprised when they discover our store.”

“We have a very wide range,” says Tim. “I often find out the more timeless models, Kelly is aware of the trends again.” Whether you are looking for a classic sandal or a trendy sneaker: at Shou by Lou you will find your dream shoe for a low price.

On social media we are known for children as the Labubu store. Recently someone recognized me on the street because her child is talking about our store so much.”
