The HSV women announce their first reinforcement for the second half of the season: Lea Paulick is moving from Eintracht Frankfurt to the Elbe. The 26-year-old goalkeeper complements the previous trio of Larissa Haidner, Inga Schuldt and Laura Sieger, who was injured with a torn cruciate ligament.

Paulick is looking forward to her new employer: “The HSV has put herself back on the women’s football map – and with incredible enthusiasm and enormous energy,” she said in a statement. This season, Lea Paulick was in goal once for the SGE. Previously, she played for 1. FC Nürnberg for nine years (148 games) and was promoted from the regional to the Bundesliga.

Saskia Breuer, head of the HSV women, emphasized: “Lea brings valuable experience at the highest level and is a physically strong goalkeeper who has already experienced high training intensity and quality in recent years.”

In their search for a new signing for the winter, HSV has apparently come across a talented professional from Borussia Dortmund. The club has already contacted Almugera Kabar, “Bild” reported on Tuesday. HSV is said to be interested in a permanent transfer of the 19-year-old left-back.

Almugera Kabar, born in Bremen, could compete with regular player Miro Muheim. The youngster made his Bundesliga debut for BVB in 2024/25 (five appearances so far), but coach Niko Kovač recently relied on more experienced players. In the current season, Kabar played ten times for the U23s in the regional league (four goals). In 2023 he became world and European champion with the German U17 national team, and most recently played for the U20 for the first time in October 2025.

HSV midfielder Jonas Meffert is apparently about to return to second division club Holstein Kiel. According to information from the “Abendblatt”, the 31-year-old decided to take this step over the Christmas period.

Meffert moved from Kiel to HSV in 2021. In three of four second division years in Hamburg he was at times an irreplaceable leading player. However, after promotion to the first division, the Cologne native lost his place in the HSV team. He was only in the starting line-up once this Bundesliga season. Meffert’s contract with Hamburg expires next summer. Both clubs still have to agree on a transfer of the midfielder.
