CSP Zeebrugge Terminal is handling one million containers this year. They expect that this will rise by 15 percent next year. That is a lot of trucks on the road. That is why they also focus on Estuaire Vaart and the Spoor. Martijn Elbers, Lineas: “If we start driving three times a week at the end of the year, we will remove 6.5 million kilometers from the road. Equivalent of around 10,000 freight movements. That saves a lot of traffic jams for everyone.”
Trains are already running from Zeebrugge to other destinations in Germany, and also to Spain and recently to Antwerp again.
