The first trailer for the eagerly awaited thriller “Amsterdam” by David O. Russell comes up with a rare star cast.
The cast includes Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Robert De Niro, Chris Rock, Zoe Saldana, Rami Malek and Taylor Swift.
The US director, who previously worked with Bale on hit films such as “The Fighter” and “American Hustle”, wants to bring the crime satire about a murder in the 1930s to cinemas in November. The trailer was posted online on Wednesday.
The story revolves around three close friends (Bale, Robbie and Washington) who become suspects after a body is found. Much of it “really happened,” the trailer says. The trio changed American history when they uncovered a secret.
Amsterdam is Russell’s first directorial project since Joy (2015). The all-star cast also includes John David Washington, Anya Taylor-Joy, Michael Shannon, Mike Myers, Matthias Schoenaerts, Alessandro Nivola, Timothy Olyphant and Andrea Riseborough.
