First single from new A-ha album “True North” will be released on July 8th

The Swedish synth band A-ha has been on a world tour since March. But that’s not all. On October 21, 2022, a new album, “True North”, will be released for the first time in seven years. The first taste is said to be the single “I’m In,” which will be released on July 8th.

Behind the song is A-ha keyboardist Magne Furuholmen. He sees it as “total support” for someone suffering from serious problems. “Everyone knows how difficult it is to offer unconditional support,” the musician said in an official statement. You just have to say: “I’m in”(Note: I’m In).

In total, “True North” consists of 12 songs. Six were written by Furuholmen, six by guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy. None by Morten Harket. It starts with “I’m In”. here the single can already be pre-saved. That means it will automatically become part of your own media library on July 8th.

Film and album at the same time

A-ha don’t just deliver a new album. “True North” will also be released as a film in selected theaters later this summer. The band can be seen recording the songs in the Norwegian city of Bodø, which is located north of the Arctic Circle.

A press release describes it as a “poetic homage to the spectacular landscapes and culture of Norway,” the band’s home country. Climate change and its effects are therefore also an important topic for A-ha in their music. The album was recorded together with the Arctic Philharmonic in Norway. The film will be available for purchase on October 21st.
