Vestiare Collective has opened its new headquarters in Paris. As part of the renovation, a new office concept was introduced that focuses on ecological, personal design, the resale platform announced in mid-May.

For the new headquarters, Vestiare Collective has redesigned a historic Parisian building. French architecture firm Les Bâtissuers led the conversions, with the resale platform’s in-house ‘Sustainability and Inclusion’ team being involved in the decisions. “In designing the new Vestiaire Collective headquarters, Les Bâtisseurs combined eco-friendliness with comfort to create the offices of tomorrow,” explain Les Bâtisseurs’ Eloi Coudevylle and Olivier Tabard.

This resulted in 4,500 square meter premises, half of which consist of social and communal areas. With this, Vestiaire Collective promotes “cross-functional working and interaction”. Furnishings at the new headquarters also consist of a mix of design objects and second-hand furniture, sourced through a partnership with second-hand platform Selency.

By using local production, sustainable materials and with over 60 percent recycled, reused and used furniture, according to Vestiaire Collective, 30 percent less CO2 emissions could be achieved than when designing conventional offices.

With the transformation of the building, Vestiaire Collective is pursuing a “revolutionary new office model” to serve as a model “that can be replicated in new and existing offices in New York, Hong Kong, Berlin and London,” say co-founders Fanny Moizant and Sophie Hersan.
