The first construction phase of the factory has since been completed. From the end of 2026, hydrogen will be produced from wind and solar energy. This is a crucial step in the energy transition, especially for the transport sector. “We are going to focus on long -distance transport, a sector where batteries alone are not sufficient for the energy transition,” explains project manager Mario Loncin.

The industry is also eagerly looking forward to the arrival of green hydrogen. Without this energy source, a climate -neutral future threatens to become unfeasible for many companies. “Green hydrogen will play a key role in the energy transition. Certainly for sectors that are difficult to electrify, such as the chemical industry, this is a game check,” says Paul Tummers of Consortium Hyoffwind.
